Cutting optimisation for metal fabrication
Railings, stairs, gates and steel structures consist of many parts of different lengths – cut from round tubes, box sections, flat bar or angles. Pipe-tunes 2.0 distributes the parts across the bars with the least possible waste and keeps track of usable offcuts in stock.

Typical jobs in the workshop
Railings and stairs
Posts, handrails, balusters and cross members in many lengths – the program combines them so that as little as possible is left of every bar.
Steel structures and frames
Frames, substructures and racks made of tubes, angles or flat bar. You calculate a separate cutting plan for each profile.
Stainless steel
With expensive material every centimetre counts. Usable offcuts are recorded in stock and never forgotten.
Gates and fences
Many identical parts in large quantities – ideal for optimisation. You see at once how many bars you need to order.
What Pipe-tunes does for your workshop
- bar length and kerf to match your saw
- trim cut at the start of the bar, if needed
- multiple stock locations, for example by material or profile
- offcuts from stock are used first, new bars only after that
- graphical cutting plan for printing – tick off finished bars on the screen
- export to Excel with material consumption in metres
- paste dimensions straight from Excel

Does it pay off?
A simple example: if you process €20,000 worth of bar stock a year, every percent less waste saves €200. A licence costs a one-off €149 excl. VAT – no subscription.
The best way to find out is with your own jobs: the trial version is fully functional for 30 days, with no registration and no credit card.
